June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate and honor queer people. The queer community has always been an integral part of the creative community, pushing the art world forward. As the month comes to a close, we celebrate the queer artists shown on the Artnet Gallery Network, artists from a range of backgrounds creating unique and beautiful work.
Kyle Dunn
Born in 1990, New York based artist Kyle Dunn has made a name for himself with his intimate, meticulously rendered paintings. Though they can seem at first glance quiet and familiar, he carefully assembles figures and spaces that are inviting and exciting. The spaces and pieces are familiar—people in everyday spaces surrounded by everyday objects—but his careful compositions turns an image of an evening at home into a human-scale still life. This work showcases his push and pull of leaving some surfaces smooth and refined and others photorealistically rendered.
